Describe Eid al-Adha.
One of the most important holidays in Islam is called Eid al-Adha, or simply Eid. It is observed on the tenth day of the Hijri calendar's Dhu al-Hijjah month and is regarded as a significant holiday by Muslims all over the world.

After the Hajj, which is a manifestation of sacrifice and allegiance to God Almighty, comes Eid al-Adha. The celebration is a representation of the story of the Prophets Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him, and Ismail (Ismail), peace be upon him, who sought God's favor by offering a sacrifice. Muslims sacrifice an animal—typically a sheep—during the height of the festival, then give the meat to the underprivileged and needy.

Eid al-Adha is a chance to socialize and strengthen family and social ties in addition to offering sacrifice. On the occasion of Eid, Muslims visit with family and friends and exchange greetings and blessings. Mosques and homes are decorated, and there are entertainment opportunities and specialty foods that heighten the festive and fun-loving atmosphere.

The Muslim holiday of Eid al-Adha expresses the sacrifice, gratitude, and worship that are fundamental to Islam and strengthens Muslim brotherhood. Muslims are reminded of the value of giving up things for others, being devoted to God, and connecting with others during this happy, joyful time.

The reason for naming Eid al-Adha
The word "addha," which denotes the offering of a halal sacrifice, is the source of the name Eid al-Adha. The holiday's name refers to the sacrifice made by the Prophet Ibrahim (Abraham), peace be upon him; this is the incident that the Holy Qur'an describes in Surat Al-Saffat (37:102–107).

God Almighty asks Abraham, peace be upon him, to sacrifice his son Ismail (Ismail), as a gesture from him to test his faith and obedience, in the honorable story. Abraham was about to offer his son as a sacrifice when God Almighty gave him the order to sacrifice a replacement sheep. As a result, his son was taken out of the offering.

Since that time, Abraham (peace be upon him) has been under God Almighty's command to make the halal sacrifice a fundamental component of his worship and a requirement for Muslims. As a result, the holiday was given the name "Al-Adha" to honor this significant religious occasion and bloody sacrifice made in honor of the All-Powerful God.

The number of days of Eid al-Adha
The three-day Eid al-Adha holiday. The Hijri calendar's Dhu al-Hijjah month's tenth day marks the start of the feast, which lasts through the twelveth day of the month. The tenth day is the day of Arafah, which is one of the most significant Hajj days and the day that pilgrims travel to Arafat's shrine. The days after Eid al-Adha are referred to as the days of al-Tashreeq because it is encouraged for Muslims to engage in acts of worship and charitable deeds during these days.

In other words, counting from the day of Eid itself, Eid Al-Adha lasts for three days.

Eid al-Adha
Early in the morning on the day of Eid al-Adha, the Eid al-Adha prayer is a communal act of worship. Muslims congregate during this prayer, which is one of the most significant acts of worship performed during the Eid, to pray and to offer blessings and congratulations to one another.

Takbeer: The worshipers recite the takbeer after the imam has spoken it aloud first. After each individual prayer, the takbeer is repeated; the first takbeer is seven, and the second is five.
Introduction reading: Surah Al-Fatihah and another surah from the Holy Qur'an are recited aloud following the takbeer.
After the prayer, the preacher gives the Eid al-Adha sermon. It discusses social and religious issues, the significance of offering sacrifices, and human interaction. The sermon aims to increase Muslims' awareness and faith while directing them in the direction of goodness.
Closing takbeers: Following the sermon, there will be a number of closing takbeers. The number of takbeers is again between 3 and 7 at this point.
Muslims congratulate and bless each other after the Eid al-Adha prayer, and a spirit of joy, brotherhood, and affection permeates the air.

Muslims are advised to check with the local religious authorities for the exact details on how to perform the prayer and its sermon in order to observe Eid al-Adha, as the details may vary between different cultures and nations.
